The NC High School to Community College Articulation Agreement provides a seamless process that joins secondary and postsecondary CTE programs of study. This statewide articulation agreement is comprised of approximately 50 high school CTE courses that match the knowledge and skills taught in similar community college courses. The articulation agreement ensures that if a student is proficient in their high school course, the student can receive college credit for that course at any NC Community College.

To receive articulated credit students must enroll at the community college within two years of high school graduation and meet the following criteria:

• Final grade of B or higher in the course and

• A score of 93 or higher on the standardized CTE post-assessment

Starting in 2020-2021 some CTE courses are replacing the CTE post-assessment (test) with a PBM (Project) Proof of Learning or a Certification/Credential Proof of Learning. A specific rule for articulated credit has not been specified at this time and so a student with a CTE credit in these courses should contact their specific community college to discuss these courses and credit.

Due to Covid-19 some students might not have a CTE post-assessment score or a final course grade. Students need to contact their specific community college to discuss this situation.
